Never Underestimate

the

Power of Art…

· Art helps youth discover and express their unique selves and individualism.

· Art can be very calming and therapeutic for young people.  It is an ideal tool for teaching them to develop a healthy respect for creative, quiet/relaxation time.

· If you ever want to take a good look into the heart and mind of a child, just give him/her piece of paper and a box of crayons, then step back and watch their innermost feelings and thoughts come to life.

· Although art plays a vital role in a child's early and continuous development, it is usually one of the first programs sacrificed, as a result of budget cuts, in many educational institutions.

· Art has been directly responsible for breaking down barriers put up by youth who have been emotionally scarred or those who have marked difficulty expressing emotions such as, anger, fear or disappointment.   Soon these same youth will be able to experience and express joy, excitement and  self-love all  with the help of art.

· When adults publicly and proudly display young people’s artwork, it builds their self-esteem and serves as powerful proof that their work and ideas are valued.

· Art is found in everything we see, hear, feel, smell, taste, do and experience.

· Careers in the Art field are amongst the fastest growing today.  Art is powerful!!!
